Sardinia, a unique experience

Sailing trip from Arbatax

Early in the morning from Arbatax, the day tour to the Gulf of Orosei begins. First we go towards the Isola dell'Ogliastra. A hundred years ago, the small rocky island of red prophylaxis was one of the few safe anchorages on the Ogliastra coast. You will pass Santa Maria Navarrese in the direction of the eighty meter high, mighty rock tower Perda Longa and then towards the mighty rocky cape Capo di Monte Santo.
As you sail past the rust-red rock, the landscape suddenly changes: here begins the almost 40 kilometers long Gulf of Orosei, a coastline that turns green or dark green depending on the season, with perhaps the most beautiful and impressive beaches in Sardinia.
Small bays and small fjords (Porto Pedrosu and Porto Quau) lie along the steep cliffs, where you can even sail a bit with the tender.
Then our boat will anchor off the world famous bay of Cala Goloritzé . The fantastically beautiful bay, framed by a spectacular rock arch and the steep coast, guarded by the massive, pointed rock needle Punta Caroddi and lapped by crystal clear, turquoise-green shimmering water is strictly protected and can only be reached after an hour and a half of walking. You can also swim out to the bay from your sailboat or simply enjoy the panorama from the deck.
You will definitely go ashore at the next bay: in Cala dei Gabbiani the tender boat will take you to the beach.
Tired of sunbathing? Then we recommend a quick visit to the famous Grotta del Fico (don't forget your jacket or sweater, entrance fee around € 8 is not included). The visit to the cave, which is only a few meters above sea level, takes about half an hour and there are numerous different caves with stalagmites and stalactites to see. The monk seal, threatened with extinction and now extinct on the coast of Sardinia, lived in this cave until the 1960s, because the cave has a connection to the sea below sea level. A 445 m long section of the cave system can be visited.
After a swimming stop in the bay of Cala Mariolu , you will board again.
On the way back, another swim stop should not be missed: Cala Biriola is our last stop before heading back to Arbatax harbor. Depending on the wind and weather or your wishes, the order of the approached bays may vary.
