Sardinia, a unique experience

Villa San Giovanni di Sinis, Tharros - Sardinia

Villa located in the heart of historic Tharros, a stone's throw away from the sea. This traditional holiday home on the west coast of Sardinia has a beautiful courtyard, a panoramic terrace and a whirlpool and offers enough space for six people.

About the accommodation

The detached holiday home Villa San Giovanni di Sinis is located just a hundred meters from the beach and offers a roof terrace with spectacular panoramic views over Cape San Marco, the surrounding Macchia Mediterranea and a deep blue sea. Baroque balustrades surround the White House, and the outer walls conceal a typical Sardinian courtyard, which is reached through a semicircular, turquoise-colored door. This courtyard - where you can enjoy plenty of privacy - is equipped with a dining area, barbecue, sunbeds and hot tub. From the courtyard you also have access to the panoramic roof terrace via an outside staircase.

The front door leads to the cozy living room with a comfortable seating area. Decorated with traditional decorative elements from the Oristano region, a television and a fireplace that visually separates the living and dining areas and can be used from two sides.
The transition between the dining area and the kitchen has also been resolved architecturally: a hatch serves as a partition. A large gas stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, built-in cupboards and a centrally placed marble countertop make the well-equipped kitchen elegant.
Through the dining area you reach the hallway of the sleeping area, where there is also a shared bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and sink. Right next to it is a bedroom with a double bed, narrow wall shelves and a wardrobe. The second bedroom has a sturdy bunk bed, a chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe. The third bedroom is equipped with a double bed, bedside tables and a wardrobe.

The house is located in the middle of the old pilgrim houses of one of the main places of worship on the island. First a journey through history and then jump into the cool water - that's only possible here! One of the most ancient Christian churches in Sardinia, the Chiesa di San Giovanni di Sinis, is located in San Giovanni. Just a few hundred meters further south are the ruins of ancient Tharros. The remains of this Phoenician port city date back to the 7th and 8th centuries BC. and are partially exposed. A visit to Tharros is not complete without a walk to the lighthouse of Capo San Marco. Along the way you will come across another watchtower, the barely developed and explored remains of another Phoenician settlement, battle stations from the Second World War and you can enjoy a great view over the bay of Oristano and the setting sun. And then back to the sea - crystal clear water in the most beautiful shades of blue and a white beach of the finest quartz gravel.

A perfect stay for those...

Discover the province of Oristano in west Sardinia

In the west of Sardinia is the province of Oristano with the capital of the same name. This region is quite flat and has relatively little tourism, the reason for this special region is dominated by olive cultivation, fishing, agriculture and livestock farming! In this region you will find extensive vineyards with the typical Oristan Vernaccia grapes. The extensive tasting of this delicious wine is a must! Taste this wine here! Discover for example the small authentic town Bosa, but also one of the numerous archaeological remains dating back to before our era are certainly worth a visit. Also visit the Sinis peninsula, of which the entire coastal area is a protected area. Capo San Marco is the northern tip of the Gulf of Oristano and is a wonderful place for a small excursion by bike or hike. Take a refreshing dip from one of the beautiful beaches of San Giovanni di Sinis. At the lake of Santa Giusta you can see pink flamingos and other birds that live here in a paradise of their own! Around the fishing village of Cabras is produced the delicious bottarga (roe), which is used in many Sardinian dishes. In the town of Oristano, an equestrian tournament is still held every year during Carnival: "Sa Sartiglia", masked horsemen galloping on steeds at breath-taking speed aim their swords at a tin star.
