Costa Verde

Day 1: Arrival in Cabras
Arrival in Cabras and overnight stay in a 3-star hotel, including breakfast.

Day 2: Sinis Peninsula (36 km)
Start your cycling holiday with an optional loop through the fascinating Sinis landscape with its lagoons, where you will see colonies of pink flamingos, quartz beaches and reach one of the most beautiful spots on the island: the Phoenician ruins of Tharros. Then discover the city with the medieval historic center of Oristano and then cycle to Arborea. Overnight at a 3 star hotel or agriturismo including breakfast in the surrounding of Arborea.

Day 3: Costa Verde and the dunes of Piscinas (46/54 km)
Today you cycle through the natural beauty of the Costa Verde, one of the most wild landscapes on the island. After this you cycle to Piscinas with sand dunes to more than 50 meters high - the highest in Europe.
Overnight stay at an agriturismo or 3-star hotel including breakfast in the Arbus area.

Day 4: Arbus - Gonnesa. Sulcis mines (41 km)
This route takes you back to Sardinia's old mining past as you cycle past the fascinating abandoned mines of Ingortosu and Planusartu. After the golden beach of Portixeddu and the imposing cliff of Pan di Zucchero, you admire the old ore washing plant in Nebida: nestled amidst the varied colors of the Mediterranean shrubs, you look out over the sea at the end of a long descent of 540 steps. You will spend the night in the Nebida area, for example at Locanda S'Annina in Gonnesa, or if you choose the upgrade: Hotel Lido degli Spagnoli including breakfast.
Day 5: Isola di San Pietro and Carloforte (43 km)
After a scenic descent to Fontanamare, you will reach Portoscuso, here you will board the ferry to Carloforte Island, where the locals still fish for red tuna. From Carloforte, continue to Sant'Antioco Island and you will end the day in Calasetta. You stay, for example, at the small-scale Muma Hostel (including breakfast) or, with the upgrade, the lovely Hotel Luci del Faro in Calasetta.
Day 6: Calasetta - Santa Anna Arresi (40 km)
Today you cycle through the meadows, green in spring and golden yellow in summer, of Sant'Antioco. In Tratalias, visit the Sanctuary of Pisa, one of the most important monuments of Sardinia's Romanesque period.
Cycle along Lake Monte Pranu and enjoy the tranquility of the rolling plains of Sulcis. Overnight stay with breakfast at Agriturismo Terranieddas or, if you choose the upgrade, the Lu Hotel Porto Pino

Day 7: Sant'Anna Arresi - Pula, south coast (57 km)
The last day of your cycling holiday is the beautiful Costa del Sud with its beautiful white beaches, untouched nature and imposing cliffs: Cape Malfatano with its 16th century tower and Cape Spartivento. At Nora you will visit
the ancient Phoenician settlement and excavations. Overnight stay including breakfast at Hotel Villa Madau, located in the charming center of Santa Margherita di Pula, or at the upgraded Hotel Lantana Resort.

Day 8: end of your bicycle holiday
After breakfast your cycling holiday ends. Optional transfer back to Cabras to your (rental)car.
Villa Canu
Hotel Villa Canu is set in a stately house in Cabras, on the west coast of Sardinia. The cozy and small-scale family hotel has neat rooms and a lovely swimming pool. A stone's throw from the hotel is the excellent restaurant Il Caminetto, also run by the Canu family. Definitely a great base if you want to visit Cabras, Oristano, Tharros and beautiful quartz beaches like Is Arutas!
Locanda S'Anninnia
Locanda S'Anninnia is located in Gonnesa, a village only 3 km from the sea, surrounded by remnants of mining life and many archaeological sites that characterize the province of Carbonia Iglesias.
Muma Hostel
Because staying here is living on the seafront: it’s waking up to the cry of the seagulls announcing the arrival of the boats with the freshest fish, sharing the reception with the Museum of the Sea and Shipwrights, a little jewel that tells the story of the aquatic flora and fauna of the lagoon and preserves the memory of the naval carpentry of Sant’Antioco. It’s having the island at hand, with its beaches, cliffs, the humanity of its seafarers, the great history of its Phoenician origins, the rituals in costume dedicated to the namesake saint martyr and patron saint of all Sardinia.
