In the 1960s and 70s, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV "discovered" this town during a vacation and subsequently decided to turn it into a beautiful holiday resort. Under his direction, beautiful villas, hotels, and resorts were built here. Both the national and international jet set flock here during the summer months. Beautiful beaches, such as Liscia Ruja, surround Porto Cervo.
