The villa right by the sea, a holiday home with a pool or a little hidden gem with only a few bedrooms: if you know exactly what you are looking for, it is worth making an enquiry from October onwards for the following year.
Some owners publish their prices and availability as early as autumn. Others do not open their calendars until January – for example, for tax or organisational reasons.

For hotels, agriturismi in Sardinia and bed & breakfasts in Sardinia, there is usually no need to book as early as autumn. Between December and March, prices and availability for the new season are generally confirmed. This is also when many early-booking discounts become available.
For most holidays, January and February are therefore ideal months to book. However, if you have a particular accommodation or family room in mind, or are planning to travel in July or August, it is best not to wait too long.

Frequently asked questions about booking Sardinia early
When should I book Sardinia for next year?
It depends on the type of accommodation and your travel dates. Special villas and holiday homes can be enquired about from October onwards. Ferries and rental cars are often bookable from November or December. For hotels, agriturismi and B&Bs, booking between December and March is usually early enough.
Which accommodation in Sardinia should I book as early as possible?
Booking early is particularly worthwhile for villas with a private pool, holiday homes directly by the sea, small boutique properties and houses for larger families or groups. Family rooms, accessible accommodation and properties that accept pets are also available in limited numbers.
When should I book Sardinia for July or August?
For the summer holidays, the earlier the better. Popular villas and holiday homes can already be enquired about in autumn or winter of the previous year. Hotels, agriturismi and B&Bs should ideally be booked by January or February. After that, the choice can quickly become more limited, especially near the coast.
Is it worth booking early for May, June, September or October?
Yes, especially if you have a particular accommodation in mind. Small boutique hotels, popular agriturismi and unusual holiday homes can also sell out early outside the high season. If you are flexible about the region and accommodation, you can usually afford to wait a little longer.
Are prices already final in autumn?
Not always. Some owners publish their new prices as early as October, while others wait until January. We will let you know in our quotation. If the final price is not yet available, the previous year’s rate can at least provide a useful indication.
Can I put my preferred accommodation on hold?
That depends on the individual accommodation. Some owners accept non-binding reservations or preliminary requests. Others only confirm bookings once prices and contract conditions for the new year have been finalised. We are happy to check this for you.
Are there discounts for booking Sardinia early?
Many hotels and holiday resorts offer early-booking discounts. These are often published between December and February and may, for example, be valid until the end of January or mid-March. With private villas, the main advantage is often the wider choice rather than a lower price.
Are ferries to Sardinia cheaper if I book early?
Early-booking fares and limited-time promotions are often available. Booking early is especially worthwhile for summer holidays, overnight crossings and cabins. Make sure you check the fare conditions: the cheapest tickets can often only be changed to a limited extent or for an additional fee.
When should I book a ferry to Sardinia with a dog?
If you need a pet-friendly cabin, it is best to book as early as possible. Only a limited number of these cabins are available and they can sell out quickly on popular travel dates.
When is the best time to book a rental car in Sardinia?
For the high season, booking from November or December onwards is recommended. At that stage, there is usually still a wide choice of vehicle categories. Automatic cars, family cars and larger rental cars can become significantly more expensive or sell out when booked at short notice.
Should I book the accommodation or the ferry first?
If you have your eye on a particular villa or popular holiday home, check its availability first. You can then coordinate the ferry, flight and rental car with your travel dates. For a flexible round trip, it is best to plan the individual elements together.
Does booking early automatically mean less flexibility?
No. What matters are the amendment and cancellation conditions of the individual offer. If you want to remain flexible, you should therefore look not only at the price but also at the fare or booking conditions.
What information do you need to prepare a quotation?
The following information is helpful:
• preferred travel dates
• number and ages of travellers
• preferred region
• preferred type of accommodation
• preferred board basis
• approximate travel budget
• special requirements such as a pool, proximity to the beach or sea view
• information about any pets travelling with you
• preferred ferry route or rental car category
What happens if my preferred accommodation is not yet bookable?
