Sardinia, a unique experience

Dolphin watching in Alghero

Holidays in Alghero? Then you must pay a visit to the dolphins of the Coral Riviera! Accompanied by a skipper and guide, set sail in a 10-meter motorboat from the marina towards the natural park of Capo Caccia to spot dolphins. Of course, you need a bit of luck, because the marine mammals live wild here. After all: On this excursion there is a sighting probability of 80%. But the excursion alone is a scenic adventure! Enjoy the sea, the magnificient cliffs along the Alghero coast, the sea area of Capo Caccia and the offshore island of Piana!
Depending on the season, the tour lasts four hours (in summer from June to September), because there is a stop at a beautiful bay for snorkeling. In winter, when the water is usually too cold for snorkeling, the tour is only 3 hours long.

The bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) is a species of dolphin that is found in all oceans and can cover many kilometers in a single day. Usually the bottlenose dolphins live in groups of 5 to 20 individuals and are characterized by a gray color and a slightly lighter snout. The animal has an average length of 270 cm.
