Hotel Santa Gilla, Capoterra - Sardinia
The four-star Hotel Santa Gilla with its spacious rooms is located near Capoterra on the edge of the lagoon of the same name, one of Sardinia’s most important wetlands. Between Cagliari, Maddalena Spiaggia and the beaches of the south coast, it is an ideal base for guests wishing to combine a beach holiday with city visits and nature experiences.
About the accommodation
The hotel enjoys a quiet location near the Santa Gilla lagoon, famous for its flamingos that live here all year round and gather in their thousands to breed in spring. The hotel complex is well maintained and pleasantly manageable in size, offering a garden, swimming pool and lounge bar for relaxing holiday days away from the crowds. At the same time, Cagliari can be reached quickly – ideal for a stroll through the city, dinner in the historic centre or an excursion to Poetto Beach.
At the heart of the property lies the approximately 190 m² pool area, surrounded by lush greenery. The pool has a maximum depth of 1.40 metres and several hydromassage areas. Sun loungers and parasols are available around the pool. From June to September, light dishes, drinks, cocktails and snacks are served here. In the late afternoon, the lounge bar becomes a lovely spot for an aperitif overlooking the pool.
The beach of Maddalena Spiaggia is about 650 metres away and can easily be reached on foot. Although this long sandy beach is not among the island’s most spectacular, it slopes gently into the sea and is therefore particularly suitable for families. At the Cayo Loco beach club, hotel guests can rent sun loungers and parasols for a fee. During the season, there is also a bar, restaurant and several water sports options including SUP, canoeing, pedal boats and inflatable boat rental. Maddalena Spiaggia is also a popular kitesurfing spot.
