In the lively center of Alghero, you can wander endlessly through narrow alleys, past the palazzos, cathedrals, city walls, and defensive towers built in the Spanish style. It is delightful to relax on the shady terraces with a sea breeze. Towards evening, as the temperature drops slightly and the sun sets behind the opposite headland of Capo Caccia, the city takes on an orange, peach-like color. This is the perfect moment to take a stroll along the lungomare (boulevard) by the harbor, followed by enjoying a delicious dinner in one of the many restaurants or on the terraces.
The "Grotte di Nettuno", the Caves of Neptune, located about 25 kilometers from the city of Alghero, are among Alghero's most popular attractions. This imposing limestone cliff, standing at a height of no less than 204 meters, is situated on the point.

Cagliari (South Sardinia)
After breakfast, you leave Alghero. Today, the route leads straight through Sardinia to our capital, Cagliari. The capital, Cagliari, is located in the south of the island of Sardinia. This ancient port city was founded by the Phoenicians around 800 BC. The Romans called it 'Karalis'. The oldest part of the city, Castello, is picturesquely situated against a steep hill and is completely surrounded by the old city wall. The newer districts later spread out along the foot of the hill, and present-day Cagliari lies on and between 7 hills. For the coming nights, a room on a bed and breakfast basis has been reserved at the charming B&B Fra Cielo, located on the lively Viale Regina Margherita.

Olbia (Northern Sardinia)
The small port city in the northeast is a thriving industrial and commercial metropolis, home to the largest airport for holidaymakers on the island, and is considered the gateway to the Costa Smeralda.
In May, the city radiates all its charm when the streets are colorfully decorated for the feast of the patron saint San Simplicio and a large fair opens. But for the rest of the year, you can browse and stroll through small shops along the Corso Umberto I boulevard. You can shop till you drop in the large shopping centers on the outskirts.
The beach paradises of Pittulongu, the mountain village of San Pantaleo, and the sophisticated marina of Porto Rotondo are also part of Olbia. Just a few kilometers from the city are two archaeological sites situated between worlds: Su Monte e S'Ape, a mass grave of the Nuragic culture, and Pedres, a fortified castle from the Middle Ages. South of Olbia lies the beach paradise of Porto Istana, with wonderfully soft sand and a fantastic view of the island of Tavolara.
A highlight in the north of Sardinia is the archipelago of La Maddalena. This group of more than 60 islets consists of 7 larger islands: La Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria, and Razzoli. Of all the islands in this nature reserve, the main island of La Maddalena is inhabited and has approximately 13,000 residents. From the port of Palau, you can cross over to enjoy La Maddalena.
