Hotel Brancamaria, Cala Gonone - Sardinia
Freshly renovated, clean four-star hotel with a large pool, spacious rooms, and a panoramic location above Cala Gonone.
About the accommodation
This family-run hotel is located on the edge of Cala Gonone, in a beautiful panoramic setting. If the short walk from the hotel to the village or back feels too steep, you can make use of the hotel’s shuttle service to the town center. That way, your car or motorcycle can conveniently remain in the hotel’s parking area! Not only does this four-star hotel offer an extensive breakfast buffet, but also dinner. In the large swimming pool with sea view you can swim a few laps, and the pool bar invites you to enjoy a cocktail or have lunch. A special highlight is the weekly Sardinian dinner.
Rooms
Early risers can enjoy the sunrise in the Deluxe rooms with sea view. In the private whirlpool of the spacious Grand Deluxe room (with pool or sea view) you can truly relax. The hotel’s standard double rooms also offer all the necessary comfort, with decorative balcony and mountain view (Classic) or pool view (Superior); almost all rooms provide the option of a third bed.
Activities
This hotel with excellent value for money is located just above one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the east coast of Sardinia. The former fishing village of Cala Gonone has grown into a lively coastal town and offers a long local beach (fine pebbles). From the hotel you can directly join an organized excursion to the many bays of the Gulf of Orosei or rent a boat yourself at the marina; several shallow sandy beaches are reachable with a short drive. In the evening, it is delightful to stroll along the seafront promenade lined with shops and restaurants, or to watch village life from one of the many terraces overlooking the sea with a glass of local wine. That’s a holiday! Would you also like to discover the original and authentic inland of Sardinia? In autumn, the hotel is an ideal starting point for visits to the weekend ‘Autunno in Barbagia’ town festivals, where you can experience traditional Sardinia in all its splendor – from customs to local crafts and gastronomy. From Cala Gonone you can also reach the almost untouched Supramonte massif in less than 20 minutes, including the famous canyon ‘Gola Gorropu’ and the many stalactite caves and archaeological sites of the Nuraghe culture in the region. Climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, diving, hiking? No problem – Dorgali is Sardinia’s fun sport and outdoor paradise!

Cala Gonone
The lively seaside resort Cala Gonone is located on the east coast of Sardinia in the stunning bay of Orosei. The coastline is renowned for its numerous intimate, idyllic beaches with white pebbles and crystal clear water.
Ferries depart daily from the marina of Cala Gonone to the caves of Bue Marino, where monk seals have been spotted, and to the many stunning bays of Orosei, most of which are only accessible by boat or on foot. We highly recommend visiting some of Sardinia’s most beautiful bays, such as Cala Goloritzé, Cala Sisine, Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu.
There are numerous spectacular hiking trails near Cala Gonone as well. One of Europe’s largest gorges, Gola di Goroppu, with walls up to 400 metres, and the nuragic village Tiscali are definitely worth a visit. Cala Gonone’s Sea Aquarium can show you all about the life in the Mediterranean sea.

Discover the province of Nuoro in east Sardinia
It's like time has stood still in the versatile province of Nuoro, known for its unique coastline and pristine nature. Nuoro is the least densely populated region of the island. Through the years neither the Romans, Carthaginians nor any other foreign conquerors have succeeded in invading the area, because of which it's been able to develop its own culture. Nowadays Nuoro's unique folklore and traditions are still visible during the local festivities.
