Small but nice boutique hotel on the east coast of Sardinia. This family hotel offers twelve cosily furnished rooms, some with sea view and an excellent fish restaurant. Hotel Nascar is located on the outskirts of the small coastal town of Santa Maria Navarrese, where numerous bars and restaurants can be found. In addition, excursion boats leave from the harbor to the dream bays on the Golfo di Orosei. In short, everything within reach so that you can leave your car or motorcycle. From June to September the hotel also has its own part on the beach equipped with beds and umbrellas.

In an old mansion in Santa Maria Navarrese, Laura, Claudia and Stefania have opened their small romantic oasis: Nascar. A small hotel, furnished with an eye for the small details and at the same time strongly bound to the Sardinian tradition. With many arches, carved wood furniture and wrought iron crafts, a romantic atmosphere dominates.
Rooms
No room is the same; but thanks to the creativity of the owners, every space is chic and charming. Wooden beams, four-poster beds, give the rooms atmosphere. The Junior Suite and Deluxe rooms with a terrace at the rear are extra spacious. Very popular are the rooms with a decorative balcony on the 2nd floor and sea view. Tourists generally find a standard room without a terrace fine. After all, there are several corners in the garden where you can relax.

A short stay in the cozy Nascar hotel is actually a shame because you will immediately feel at home here thanks to the family atmosphere and the area also offers plenty of opportunities for both active and less active holidaymakers.

The lively Santa Maria Navarrese is located on the east coast in a hilly landscape characterised by spectacular beaches and turquoise waters. The traces of the ancient Nuragic tribes are still visible today. One of the most famous structures of Santa Maria Navarrese is the 17th-century Spanish watchtower, south of which there’s a broad sandy beach. We definitely recommend visiting the impressive Pedra Longa in front of the Spanish tower; a gigantic rock of 128 metres rising out of the sea.

Discover the province of Ogliastra in east Sardinia
In east Sardinia Ogliastra, a province established in 2001 when the number of Sardinian provinces was doubled, stretches from the peaks of the Gennargentu mountain range to the Tyrrhenian sea. Its landscape is varied; the coastline is known for the impressive red cliffs and hidden bays while the inland consists of high rugged mountains. The area is therefore popular among both beach lovers and active travellers alike.
Driving upwards via Baunei, you’ll arrive at the high plateau Altopiano di Golgo, where you can explore the spectacular hiking trails. With a bit of luck you get to spot donkeys, horses, cows, wild boars and goats along the way. If a bit of climbing doesn’t scare you, we highly recommend descending to the “pearl of Baunei”; the stunning bay of Cala Goloritzè.
