Returning visitors should definitely explore the island’s interior. Regions such as Barbagia, Ogliastra and the Supramonte reveal a more authentic side of Sardinia. Rugged mountains, deep gorges and vast plateaus create a strikingly varied landscape. Small towns such as Orgosolo, Oliena and Baunei are ideal starting points for hikes and discovery tours.
The west coast also offers plenty of new experiences for those who already know Sardinia. Around Bosa, the Sinis Peninsula and the wild coastal scenery of the Costa Verde, you will find long sandy beaches, fishing villages and landscapes that feel considerably more rugged and unspoilt than those in the northeast of the island.

Small, unusual and welcoming: Marzia’s B&B San Gregorio is located in the tiny Art Nouveau village of San Gregorio, surrounded by forests in southeastern Sardinia. The mid-20th-century house stands in a peaceful village between Cagliari and Muravera and offers a special atmosphere away from the coast. From here, both the Parco dei Sette Fratelli nature reserve and the beaches of Costa Rei, Villasimius and Poetto are within easy reach – a rare combination of mountains, nature and sea.
