Alghero: Grotte di Nettuno

One of the many beautiful excursions you can make in Sardinia is to the stalactite caves of Neptune, the "Grotte di Nettuno", in Alghero. This cave, decorated by many stalactites and stalagmites, is located at the tip of Capo Caccia, an imposing limestone cliff close to the pleasant town. In good weather you can take a boat trip to these caves from the port of Alghero. In less than 45 minutes you sail along the imposing cliffs of Capo Caccia to the Neptune caves. The boat trip to the Grotte di Nettuno departs from the tourist harbor of Alghero. The trip, including a tour, takes about three hours. Note; boat trips are not available during high waves. With older children who like to walk, you can alternatively drive to the caves of Neptune. Via a panoramic route from Alghero you arrive at the parking lot near the lighthouse. Due a "goat staircase", which is completely carved out of the rock and consists of no less than 655 steps, you arrive at the entrance of the cave. If you decide to visit the Neptune Cave on foot, you can go all day long, the guided tours are starting every hour.

Alghero: Le Ragnatele Adventure Park

During a family holiday in the Alghero area, it is fun with the kids to visit Le Ragnatele Adventure Park, where you can squeeze yourself through the web like a spider in this new form of exciting tree climbing and past various obstacles in a pine forest. This park, suitable for young and old, is located about 50 meters from Le Bombarde and Lazzaretto beach. The playground is open all summer season. Asinara

Asinara: Tour through the nature reserve

During a holiday with the children on the northwest coast of Sardinia, a boat excursion to the beautiful nature reserve Asinara is an absolute experience. From the small harbor in the fishing village of Stintino you will be transferred to the island of Asinara in 15 minutes. The journey there, through the azure waters, is already a true spectacle. While you enjoy the view over Stintino, the island of Isola Piano and the beautiful bounty beach La Pelosa, you arrive at the harbor of Fornelli. After a visit to the turtle rescue center, you can go around the island on foot or with an electric train. Asinara, which functioned as a prison for many years, is today a recognized natural area. In addition to beautiful hilly landscapes, breathtaking bays and beaches, the island is rich in many animal species, including the little white donkeys that happily hop around in the wild, which gave the island its name. A visit to Asinara must be booked in advance on site as there are a maximum number of visits per day allowed. At the end of the afternoon, around 5:00 PM, the last boat departs back to Stintino. Palau: Climb the bear rock

Northern Sardinia is known for its many impressive rock formations. The Roccia dell'Orso (Bear Rock) is a good example of this and is well worth a visit. This huge piece of granite is located atop a 120 meter high hill near Palau. The wind has worked the rock for thousands of years, giving it the shape of a bear today. The Bear Rock can be reached for a fee due a long path with several wide stairs. Is your holiday in Sardinia in winter? With a bit of luck you can spend a day "skiing" with the children in the Gennargentu mountain range of Fonni. The peaks of the mountain range are over 1800 m high, which means that snow often falls between December and February. The village of Fonni at 1000m altitude is the largest winter resort in Sardinia. Fonni also provides access to the three small slopes. It is equipped with two ski lifts and there are three runs (blue, red and black), a total of 3 km. ski slope.
